New Tools New Jewels!

A  couple of months ago I suddenly developed an interest in stamped metal jewellery. After reading Lisa Niven Kelly's book "Stamped Metal Jewelry" I went on a spending spree and bought myself some metal stamps, a disc cutter, hammers, a dapping set, sheet copper and Sterling Silver and hole punch pliers! I also managed to get a security stop put on my debit card due to all the online purchases I was making but a quick phone call to the bank soon sorted that out - very embarrassing when you're trying to pay for your shopping in Tesco!  So armed with my new toys and after teaching myself how to rivet I've been making some new jewellery. I've discovered I love circle designs and abstract holes and I have a bit of a leaning towards the geometric. I haven't gone down the stamped names on bits of metal route yet, I know it's very popular but it doesn't fill me with much creative joy to be honest, I prefer to let my imagination run free! New Commission ~ Stripes and Spirals!

Lampwork beadmaker Sandy Kelly recently bought a bracelet and a matching pair of earrings from my Etsy shop . She then asked if I would make her a bracelet using some of her own lovely lampwork beads ~ of course I said yes! As you can see Sandy's beads are a pretty mix of colours in a stripy design which I teamed with Sterling Silver "S" links. See more of Sandy's lampwork beads on her website  FlowerJasper

Norwegian Jewels

I first came across Wenche's beautiful jewellery through  Lima Bead's  Design Gallery. She has a real eye for colour and bead combinations and uses her talent to produce stunning necklaces and bracelets from her home in Norway. Meet ......... Wenche Brennbakk My name is Wenche Brennbakk and I live with my two girls and my husband in a small city close to the Artic circle in the northern part of Norway. During the day I work full time as an engineer with environmental issues, but during my sparetime I love to work with my beads making jewellery, and I do it as often as I can. I have spent many late night hours creating new bracelets or necklaces, and it seems like I don't need to sleep when I do that! I really enjoy it!                        Carnelia                 ...

Transformation!

Before Christmas I felt the urge to do a bit of stringing and made a couple of bracelets including this one made with Crazy Lace Agate and Freshwater Pearls. Pretty enough I suppose. However it just didn't satisfy my obsession with wire so a few days ago I took it apart and decided to get the pliers and the hammer and bench block out and transform it into something else! This is the result ~ I took this photo this morning when it was nice and bright but looking at it now I think I'm going to have to redo it tomorrow! It looks kind of dull compared to the top one. At least it's going to be bright again in the morning so I'll be there with me pebbles and me camera doing my David Bailey again! ♥♥♥ I've just listed these on Folksy . I took them at the same time as the bracelet yet they are much brighter........ curiouser and curiouser! Cherry Freckles RockPools
