Handmade And Fabulous  is a new blog recently started by Susie of Folksy shop Lynwood Jewellery . In Susie's own words Handmade And Fabulous is "a blog dedicated to hunting down the best that handmade artisans have to offer in the world of fashion, accessories and homewares. The blog has no global boundaries; it looks for inspiration from all corners of the globe. It presents some of the wonderful clothes, design, fashion, home wares and accessories that humans are making across the globe now!" I came across Shadow Dog Designs aka Catherine via   Flickr and she is now one of my contacts. Catherine lives in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and is a self-professed "nature geek". Nature is her muse and she only has to look at the marsh she lives on to gain inspiration for her beautiful jewellery. In the Forest Glen of the Singing Wood Thrush Designing one-of-a-kind jewellery satisfies a strong desire in Catherine to create. She uses mainly semi~precious stones and sterling silver in her creations but also likes to use Swarovski Crystals, Czech glass and polymer clay. She has also recently started to use copper and lampwork beads. Last week I received a commission from Kaz of  Cheeky Cherub Designs  for a pair of earrings and a pendant using Kaz's own beautiful Lampwork beads. Karen has bought several pairs of earrings from me recently and wanted a spiral design in Sterling Silver to go with her Lampwork lentils. They duly arrived in the post plus a pair of gorgeous green lentils just for me! This photo doesn't really do them justice ~ they are really gorgeous! Here's the end result I posted them to Kaz today and she is going to take them to the 2010 Flame Off this Friday and Saturday. Here's more of Kaz's handmade Lampwork beads.
